Matthew 4:7 "Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the LORD thy GOD."
The children of Israel were fed manna, angel's food, in the wilderness and were disobedient to GOD. Christ hungered, fasting 40 days and nights, and was obedient. Remember, also, Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years (the number 40 represents probation.) Jesus said, "it is written again", which implies emphasis. To show you that Jesus, in fact, went through this temptation in the wilderness for you, please turn to Deuteronomy 6, verse 13-17. We will see that Christ was quoting from the WORD of GOD.
Deuteronomy 6:13 "Thou shalt fear the LORD thy GOD, and serve Him, and shalt swear by His name."
Deuteronomy 6:14 "Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;"
Deuteronomy 6:15 "(For the LORD thy GOD is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy GOD be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth."
Deuteronomy 6:16 "Ye shall not tempt the LORD your GOD, as ye tempted Him in Massah."
Deuteronomy 6:17 "Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your GOD, and His testimonies, and His statutes, which He hath commanded thee."
"Massah" means a place in the desert, referring to Israel's temptation in the wilderness. If you're a genuine student of the WORD, you'll find that the entire Scriptures can be understood as a unit. How does one love and serve GOD and diligently keep His commandments, testimonies and statutes? By following every word that proceedeth out of His mouth, which is His WORD. Jesus, the Living WORD, stated, "It is written again", so that you know to be diligent and persevere in the WORD.
Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
Think, reflect, study, ponder, practice and live the WORD day and night. Put on the whole armour of GOD and have the two edged sword (Word of GOD) in your hands. You cannot do battle without the Sword of the LORD. Your mind will not hold up, on its own, to the devil's bombardment of lies, deception and indoctrination. A swordsman never stops practicing, so you should never stop studying, learning and sharing the WORD.
Ephesians 6:11 "Put on the whole armour of GOD, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
Ephesians 6:13 "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of GOD, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
Ephesians 6:14 "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with Truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;"
Ephesians 6:15 "And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of Peace;"
Ephesians 6:16 "Above all, taking the shield of Faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked."
Ephesians 6:17 "And take the helmet of Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of GOD:"
Ephesians 6:18 "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
You put on the whole armour as a swordsman, or soldier, for Christ, in order to stand against the false christ, satan. Your entire body needs to be protected, however, there's little point for you to be on the battlefield, in full armour, without the two edged sword in your hands. You'd just be a walking target sign for the wiles and fiery darts of the devil. The "wiles of the devil" mean trickery, lies and indoctrination. His darts are made up of propaganda, words, doctrines and ideas to deceive mankind. You need to prove, or test, and train with your armour and weapon. You can't depend on another individual to perform these things for you.
Many of our leaders; politicians; educators; journalists; businessmen and bankers, etc, are non-believers or pretend Christians. If they don't live Christ-centered lives, then you really don't have much in common with them, on a spiritual level. When it comes to Truth, don't take any man's word for it, without first checking it out yourself in the Scriptures. It must align with His WORD and you need to find out if it does or not. How many people on television are even Christians? How many folks do you know that don't watch television? Very few, because the majority are feeding from the wrong table and turning to the wrong individuals for leadership.
Once a person accepts organized religion, embracing the traditions and doctrines of men, he allows the indoctrination of the world to propagate in his mind. Organized religion embraces news/media as being truthful and rarely ever questions the type of system, or governance, it operates within. The church systems of men promote false doctrines and traditions. The deceptions, in the world, are all woven together, so putting your trust and confidence in one system of men, only makes it easier to accept other systems as well.
The world systems overlap and will merge into one worldism, so the hidden dynasties must work in sync, for it to all come together. When one dynasty's information agrees with another, many people will view it as some sort of proof. The point is to place your trust and confidence in GOD, not in men or their systems. Men and their systems will fail and disappoint you, but GOD cannot because He is Righteous and Perfect and His way is perfect.
2 Samuel 22:29 "For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness."
2 Samuel 22:30 "For by thee I have run through a troop: by my GOD have I leaped over a wall."
2 Samuel 22:31 "As for GOD, His way is perfect; the Word of the LORD is tried: He is a buckler to all them that trust in Him."
2 Samuel 22:32 "For who is GOD, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our GOD?"
2 Samuel 22:33 "GOD is my strength and power: and He maketh my way perfect."
There is deception in the world and it's way more severe than what the average person can handle. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. A little bit of leaven propagates through the entire mind. And the indoctrinated will never question the validity of the information that comes from the systems of men. Many Christians are heavily indoctrinated, so much so, that they have become one with the world and have forgotten about the enemy. Mainstream television, by itself, is enough to corrupt minds. Take those t.v. programs to a remote village and watch it influence families and lives. Now, flip it, and take the WORD to the spiritually hungry and you'll see the difference between light and darkness.
2 Corinthians 6:14 "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"
2 Corinthians 6:15 "And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?"
Belial = G955. (bel-ee'-al) Of Hebrew origin [H1100]; worthlessness; Belial, as an epithet of Satan: - Belial.
